John Hunter has lake water in his blood. With many ties to the Brainerd Lakes area John moved up to lake country from the Twin Cities in 1983. The idea was to be able to list and sell lake front property. Back in those days life was much simpler. From November till May we were "unemployed" leaving lots of time to fish, hunt and enjoy all the lakes area can offer. The rest of the year we Realtors worked hard and were a fairly close knit group. Contracts were 1 page long (today they can be 20+ pages) we had MLS books that came out every 2 weeks, with 1 black and white photo of each new listing. Information traveled by mail because fax machines were not that common. Segway to today, I have logged in 35 plus years with Kurilla Real Estate, at least 30 of those years as a Broker, still specializing in lake front property and now eligible for Social Security.
